Allen key

An allen key is a tool shaped like an “L” made from a hexagonal rod, designed to insert into screws or bolts that have a hexagonal socket in the head.

When choosing an allen key or a set, consider these features:

• Material & finish: Look for hardened steel or chrome-vanadium material for durability.

• Size range: A good set will cover a range of sizes (metric mm or SAE/inch) so you’re equipped for different screws.

• L-shape vs short/long arms: The long arm gives reach, the short arm gives leverage. Choose a set where you can access tight spots or get good torque.
